| Lars silently slipped through the dark hallways of the school. His padded paws didn’t make a sound as he leapt across the floor. Bright green eyes slightly lit up, a fluffy tail swaying behind him. He was in his cat form right now, which was the easiest one to move around in without being noticed. The only thing that could be heard was the soft clanking of the chain that was still bound around his left ankle. But over the years the Dutchman had learned how to move as soundlessly as possible, even with the chain.
The dark didn’t bother him at all. He was used to it. The dark was when he was usually most active. When he had started here as a teacher he had to get used to spending his days mostly awake and sleeping at night. Lars was generally more comfortable in the dark, so the nights that he had to patrol the hallways of the school to see if there were any students out of bed weren’t much of a chore for him.
If anything, he rather enjoyed it. It reminded him a bit of his younger days in which he would wait on dark roads for travellers to pass by. That wasn’t unlike this. Only the ‘travellers’ that passed by here were not supposed to. They were supposed to be in bed. But most of the students seemed to have a little trouble with that. Every time he had to patrol the hallways he would find at least one student out of bed.
Not that he minded. He had a great method of getting them back to bed when he found them, while having a little fun with it himself as well. After he was done with them they would think twice the next time they got the idea of sneaking out at night.

| Arthur was hungry. Very hungry. The freeze-dried blood they gave them didn't cut it and he needed to sneak out for a proper bite. Roderich had assured him that most nocturnal creatures sneaked around, but he wasn't as sure about sneaking out of the school. He trailed a hand along the stone and one of the stones pushed inward, forming a secret passage. How delightfully Harry Potter. Roderich had told him that there were all sorts of secret passages that led away from the school, left over from various wars and seiges. This would perhaps be a good way out, and his changes of meeting a teacher were lower while off the beaten path.
Carefully, he slunk in, and in the near darkness, his night vision flicked on, heightening all his senses. He felt himself melt in to the shadows, but becuase he was unfamiliar with the rooms and the shadows within it, but it made him selff noticable, and, most importantly, meant his footsteps were silent, as his feet were shadows. It was times like this he wished he could shift in to a bat like his brother, but he had never worked out how to shift. Besides, knowing his luck, he'd have a useless fish or something.
He was getting very hungry now, not enough that he lost his human mind, but he was starting to make him a little agitated. If he was a bat he could have just flown straight out of the window in his room instead of wandering around the school aimlessly, likely to get caught. He was sure he wasn't going to see anyone when he heard a noise, like a chain scraping over the floor, oh so quite, that even with his heightened senses, he only just heard it. He froze. Perhaps there was nothing there? He stayed silent and held his breath, waiting to see another movement. He didn't think it would be a good idea to get in trouble in his first few days, and he needed his blood.
Silence. Carefully, he took another step.

| Lars had been working at this school for over a year now. And his several forms and ability to move quietly made it easy to follow students around at night instead of busting them right away. This resulted in him knowing the school better than most of the other teachers. He knew for a fact that the secret passageway that he was sneaking through at the moment was a popular flight route for students. Sooner or later one would come along here.
And he wasn’t disappointed. The entrance to the secret passageway was opened and the Dutchman caught sight of a dark form slipping inside. He halted for a second as to not make himself known and scare the student off. Whoever it was, he seemed to be pretty good in hiding himself. It was probably a creature of the night, Lars figured.
Lars moved again, the chain dragging across the floor behind him. The student was hidden in the shadows darker than night, so he couldn’t see him. Though he could sense about where he was and went in that direction. As he thought he should be right in front of the student, he sat down and looked up, his large eyes emitting a bright green glow. Then he waited. The other would have to make a move eventually, and when that happened, Lars would be ready for it.
He thought he heard something, the barely noticeable sound of a footstep. His eyes scanned the shadows, trying to spot any signs of movement.

| Arthur could sense there was something there, something in his instincts were telling him there was something there and he must not move. His heart beat much too fast (but it did that sometimes anyway, so he wasn't sure if it meant anything) and his instincts had him paralysed. He stood frozen for what seemed like minutes, waiting for another sound. Slowly, it began to get to the point where he was wondering whether there was something there or in the silence he was just seeing gohsts. There was no light at all, so even his powerful night vision was useles. His breathing sounded so loud, but he knew it was probably quiet in the cavernous space.
He began to get restless, and eventually, he did the only thing his hunger addled mind could think of, with a deep breath, he gave up and simply, he legged it.

| Lars just sat and stared for a while, his ears trying to catch the sound of movement. And his waiting wasn’t in vain. After a few moments he heard the student move, at a rather fast pace even. It seemed he had decided to make a run for it, but Lars wouldn’t have any of that and ran after him. The faster the boy ran, the faster Lars followed. As he came nearer to the running footsteps, the Dutchman jumped right onto the other’s back.
“Shouldn’t you be in bed?” Lars hissed into the student’s ear. He no longer had the form of a cat. He was a human, but also not his usual tall self. He was much smaller, so he would fit easily onto the student’s back, while keeping an iron grip on him.
Once a Kludde had latched onto it’s victim, it wouldn’t let go until either the victim had reached his destination or daybreak came. While he was still quite light and easy to carry right now, Lars was gradually increasing his weight so it would become tougher for the other to carry him. If this student had heard any of the rumours about him, he would know to return to his room right now. If he had not, well, he’d find out eventually.

| Arthur felt something grab him from behind and though it wasn't very heavy, he stumbled from the sudden weight and vice like grip on his shoulders. “No, I'm nocturnal. What're you gonna make me do, walk around my room in little circles?” He snapped back, he probably shouldn't be talking back to a teacher and he probably should go back to bed, but he was hungry, and that made him sarky and rebellious. He turned to the wall and ran backwards in to it in attempt to knock the creature off his back. However, he only seemed to magage to knock the wind out of himself and hurt his back.
He wasn't quite sure exactly what was on his back but he vaguely remembered a story about a creature that clung on to travellers backs and slowly got heavier and heavier. It seemed most likely that this teacher, or prefect maybe, was one of them, whatever they were called. “Get off me!” He snapped, “I'm hungry!” And a growl grew in his throat. It was times like this he wished he could shift like his brother and flutter away like a bat. He made a lash with one of his claws to hurt the creature, but he ended up failing and flailing about and looking absolutely ridiculous.
Well, he wasn't going to let some glorified talking rock stop him from feeding, so he percevered down the passage. He could take a lot more weight than a human, so logically, he could carry the whatsitsname a little longer. Besides, this felt like a challenge, getting back before the sunlight burned him up. A wreckless and life threatening challenge, but nonetheless, he was stubborn. “Fuck you.” He sneered, storming out of the school and through the grounds, and out to wait for the night bus to take him to town.

| So his suspicions about this being a creature of the night had been right. “That would be a better idea than wandering around the school at night.” Lars shot back at him. For talking back to him like that, and also trying to knock him off his back, Lars punished the student immediately. He increased his weight quickly.
“Not a chance.” Lars said when the other told him to get off. “I’m glued to your back until you’re back in your room.” He wasn’t exactly sure what he was clinging to, but it could take more weight than a regular person. With the weight Lars had right now, even a full grown man would have trouble carrying him for long. So he would have to give the guy credit for that.
“Likewise.” Lars said as the boy cursed at him. There weren’t many students that would choose to leave the school when there was a teacher clinging to their back. He was lucky Lars wasn’t one of the strictest teachers, but when this was over he would be stuck with detention all the same. But for now Lars let himself be carried away, kind of enjoying the ride. It had been a while since someone had carried him around like this. He was gradually getting heavier and heavier, curious to see how much the boy could take.
When they stopped at the bus stop, Lars chuckled. “Being out of bed past curfew, disobeying and insulting a teacher, sneaking out of the school at night… that’s going to be one hell of a detention.” He told him. “Care to share your name and species?” Even if the other refused to tell him this, Lars would find out eventually. For now he just needed something to call him.

| As Arhtur finally reached the bus stop, he gripped a low wall, leaning against it to take some of the wight off his back, panting, "I know, but I'm hungry. Want to see what else we can throw in before the end of the night?" He suppened there was no harm in giving his name, really, the teacher would always find it out later anyway, "Arthur," But he didn;'t
He grinned, leaning against the wall, "You know... I have a note to get out of PE, right? I'm not supposed to lift heavy things." He gasped. This hadn't been smart. He could have swallowed his pride and hunger and gone back to his room, the physical strain wasn't good for his heart. However, Arthur was stubborn and barely even admitted this to himself. "You do realise we'll get weird looks when the people in town see I'm giving a piggyback ride to a midget." He snarled, being purposedully argumentative.
Finally, the bus came and he stumbled on, paying his fare and sitting down, determined not to seem as affected by the teacher as humanely possible. What Arthur didn't seem to realise, was that it was like swimming in the ocean. All too easy to get out too far, and be unable to get back. He sat and managed to get his breathing under control, and his heart slowly got back in to it's normal pace. He felt sick, his heart my have felt better, but it was still stressed, even if it didn't feel like it.
"I won't be out long," He grinned and panted, "Just maybe... I don't know, hunt, then some chips, maybe a beer or two wash it all down. Should be back soon. Do you want something too?" He asked, "A burger, a pint maybe?" He climbed off the bus, perveceiring despite the fact that the teacher had gotten so much heavier since when he sat.

| “Be my guest, Arthur.” Lars said. Because yes, he was curious what trouble the boy would get into before the night was over. And he wasn’t the one who had to sit out a detention for this, so this was just a form of amusement for the Dutchman.
“Ah, so that’s why you don’t seem familiar.” Lars said as the other said that he didn’t take PE. “That’s the class I teach.” Lars was barely concerned for the fact that he wasn’t supposed to be carrying heavy things though. The Dutchman was merely doing his duties as a teacher (although in a slightly unusual way), Arthur was the one who insisted on getting away, so he was doing it to himself.
Lars shrugged as good as he was able to while clinging to the student’s back. “Not my problem. You’re the one who’s going to appear like he’s having trouble carrying that ‘midget’.” He said.
When the bus came and Arthur got on, Lars momentarily let go of him with one arm to pay his fare before wrapping it tightly around the student again. “Good luck with hunting with me on your back.” Lars chuckled. That would be an amusing thing indeed. If he wasn’t stuck on the boy’s back, he would’ve loved to watch that scene.
Then Arthur asked him if he wanted something as well. As a teacher, it wasn’t a good thing to accept such an offer from a student. But, as stated before, Lars wasn’t really like the other teachers. And a beer did sound nice. “Your treat?”
