((Continued from Can't Get Enough of These.))

Roderich always took a certain degree of pleasure in the fact that, during the summer, the school cafeteria still served food. It did not have a significant variety of items, limiting him to more normal and human choices of food, but it never really bothered the petite man. The food was cheap and decent and there was a nice variety of cake. The food was never anything gourmet or perfect, but cake was cake and Roderich always needed a slice to get through the day.

It had been a week since his incident with the Australian boy in the library. The days following it had created an overly polite and patient librarian, one aiming to keep his reputation as a gentleman and keep the spreading of rumors to a minimum. He had little reason to worry, and the man avoided running into Keith for the entirety of the week. Everything seemed to be going just fine.

Or, at least, it would have if a note had not popped up on his desk this morning reading:
Roderich-
Would you mind checking up on Keith Smith during lunch today? I apologize for any inconvenience.

The Austrian was instantly bothered. No part of Roderich wished to deal with Keith again. He was a frustrating subject, and he had done a fantastic job of staying out of his way for a week. This note wanted to ruin it, to bring this carefully constructed peace to an end. It was frustrating, unpleasant, and unnecessary work. Surely someone else could keep an eye on him?

Yet there the librarian sat, in the midst of the lunchroom at the only unoccupied table, cautiously finishing off a decent sandwich and starting on a hefty slice of black forest cake. If he was lucky, very lucky, the Australian menace would just skip lunch today.

It had been a week and since then Keith had attended every single one of his classess, he didn't do most of the work and mainly sat at the back of the class but for at least a week he was a 'normal' student. He wasn't really proud of himself, he didn't see why he should be proud; all he did was attend a couple of classes nothing too amazing.

He stepped quickly through the hall with his collar turned up the hide the bandage on his neck, for the first time in a few months his tie was on straight and his laces were up. WIth the exception of the collar he was in full uniform, his headphones weren't even in his ears. But on his face sat his glare of anger.

You're having a meeting with Roderich at lunch, you will be going you have no choice.

"Tch," teachers were all the same, just like the one escorting him to the cafeteria. He had had one of these bastards following him until the smell of blood wore off now he just had them watching him during school hours to make sure he attended his classes and didn't skip.

He walked away from the teacher and into the cafeteria sitting down in front of Roderich looking at him, he barely ate at lunch times in the hall. EIther that or he'd go down to the shops and get a hamburger or a packet of chips. He sometimes ate the meals but he didn't really like doing that all that much. If anything he would by lunch then go outside and eat in a tree and take the rest of the day off.

"G'day," he said simply looking at Roderich curiously. The bandages were highly visable from the front, they were a tad bit blood stained but wrapped around neatly and tucked away at the back of his neck perfectly as if someone had done it for him. But no one had, Keith was very good at this. After a while his death glare softened into his regular cheeky grin.

Roderich would hardly contain his surprise when the Australian walked confidently in the room. He had hoped, oh so dearly, that the boy would simple not show up. At the very least, if he was lucky, the boy would just be retrieving his lunch and then would be on his way again. Surely this rebel would not sit down with him as he may have been instructed to do. Keith would simply go on his way and leave him be.

Yet, much to Roderich's horror, the student sat himself down in front of him. The brunet aristocrat carefully displayed no emotion, not even bothering to look away from the cake until he took a few savory bites of it, humming happily in response to them. It tasted far better than the blood of the chimera. A miniscule grin wormed its way onto his face at the thought, and he finally looked Keith over.

“Good afternoon, Keith,” answered the Austrian politely, looking the Australian over with an analytical eye. An eyebrow quirked at how nicely the Australian had cleaned himself up, wearing the uniform correctly and looking generally proper. “You look quite nice today. It is really quite refreshing. However, you can push your collar down. We have all seen that method of hiding a bite before. You are just making it all the more shameful.”

The older man snorted derisively, nibbling his cake. He ate with a fantastic enthusiasm, but it all seemed to be contained in an effort to be elegant. It was left to seep oddly from his being, peaking through his bored words, making them all sound vaguely amused or delighted. It was a strange sight to take in.

“You might need to change the bandage though. Blood is not really a good sign, even if it is dried. How long did it continue bleeding?” he tilted his head, attempting to examine it before realizing this line of questioning was probably not a good subject. The librarian floundered for a moment, frantically hunting for a new, more acceptable subject. “Never mind that. How are your studies going? Attending class now? Picking up your guitar again? Staying out of trouble?”

Keith sat in front of the other watching him eat, he looked around the room at all the other students before looking back at Roderich. He laughed at the look of horror upon the mans face feeling very proud that he had suparsed what the librarian thought he would do. He tapped his fingers lightly on the table waiting for Roderich to look up from his cake, a small giggle escaped his lips watching him eat.

The Australian's behaviour was very predictable. After any sort of violence against him he would shut up and do what people told him. Teachers were often slightly worried when he finally attended their classes however but after time the ones at his old school stopped asking questions so he could live his life in peace. Keith just assumed at this new school that they were either very used to situations like this or if that woman had told them not to ask questions.

"I don't care," he said back to Roderich pulling the collar up further, if it was a vampire bite he'd just have two dots and he could claim he had made out with a girl. But no with this one he had to wait for the skin to fuse back together, sure he could get stiches but he was slightly touhy about people doing things to his body. Of course it all depended on the person.

Keith twitched slightly and sighed before answering, "It bled out for a couple of minutes than after an hour a staff member stopped the bleeding and put some sort of liquid on it," he grunted, "other than that I havn't looked at it." Keith had a bad habit of letting his wounds go bad, he didn't want help and would be left with scars and bloood stained clothes.

He smiled, "I attended all my classes for the week and played a bunch of songs on my guitar," the smile softened as he spoke, he really did feel thankful for Roderich but he was also scared of him. Strange huh?
"Thank you..."

Roderich could not help but tilt his head more as the collar got pulled up in an attempt to hide the wound even more. He could not understand why it was something to be so ashamed of, to be hidden so carefully. It was merely a wound hidden by a bandage. It only was made more curious by the fact it was hidden.

“I see. Well, if you treat it like that, it will surely get infected. Once I finish my cake, I will gladly freshen up your bandages. Not until I finish. I would rather not look at a festering wound while I am eating. Also, I will not be biting you any time soon, for, as you can see, I am just finishing up lunch now and have a full stomach,” he offered lightly, trying desperately to succeed at giving him an almost friendly smile. Roderich was never confident on how he ought to act around people. Parents and his new life as staff in school taught him always to be polite and kind, but friends encouraged brutal and cruel honesty. It was baffling.

For a few minutes he just toyed with his cake, making intricate patterns in the icing between slow bites. Each bite of the pastry was treated with care. It was particularly well made today, and it left the Austrian ignoring the remains of his sandwich. It was not nearly as delightful as his cake. After a moment, he realized his rudeness. “I do apologize,” the brunet started softly, “I do not normally dine in the company of others. You will have to forgive my terrible manners, ignoring you in stead of my food.”

The aristocrat matched his soft smile, enjoying the calmness of the situation while it lasted. “That is good. Any decent classes? I highly doubt there are, but I really am not supposed to say such things. The music playing is a fantastic improvement. I did not think you would have touched the instrument, especially not after having to deal with me. You are a curious creature...It is nearly refreshing.”

“But, ah-” started the man helplessly, not sure what to do with the gratitude, “You are welcome, I think, but do tell me, why on earth are you thanking me? Most would curse and hate me.”

Keith let go of the collar placing his hands to rest on the table. They sat there for some time but he got restless and started to fiddle with the bottoms of his sleeves, circling his finger around the button. Eventually, as in aid to relieve something, he unbuttoned the cufs and flayed them out slightly giving a satifsfied sigh. He started to fiddle with the free button idly waiting for the other to speak.

The Australian shook his head, he had refused help from everyone so Roderich was definitly out of the question, "Don't bother, my body deals well with infection," a little infection was nothing to the Australian anyway. Rejection of the body on the other hand was not. He shrugged lightly remembering that in the past he had little to no problem with the way he treated his wounds, regardless they always seemed to heal just right, "You don't have to pretend to be nice to me, I'm just tolorating you because I don't have the energy to fight. Nothing more so don't worry yourself."

Silently humming the lyrics to one of his favourate songs in his head Keith watched as the Austrian ate ever so slowly, he chuckled lightly not really feeling that he was being rude. "Don't worry about it," he said with a cheeky smile, "it's good to enjoy your food so do that, don't feel that in my presance you have to be kind," he leant his elbow on the table smiling again, "after our little fight it's not fair to fake kindness, hostilaty seems to be our relationshi and I don't want to lie."

He nodded, "The classes were shit," and that was all he had to say. He shrugged looking back at the librarian steeching his arms gently as not to hurt his neck, "I was feeling pretty shit so I locked myself up for a few hours and soothed myself with the music, as you said I'm quite a depressing person when it comes down to it," he laughed just to show Roderich that he had gotten over it that he had healed himself and was no longer in an ill state of melancholy. "But how am I curious?" He raised an eyebrow, "Am I really that different to other people in my behaviour? Back at the library you seem facinated..."

"Well," Keith thought for a few moments before shrugging, "I went to my classes and cleaned up my act for at least a week, that was why I was sent here. I was a menace and they thought that if I was to learn when to use my powers and basically learn how to live in the world...the real world not the dark one..I'd have a better life." He gave Roderich a thumbs up, "You helped me take one step to my goal!"

The uptight Austrian frowned a bit as the student ended up unbuttoning his cuffs, but he wisely kept his mouth shut on the manner. Sleeves could always be a bit of a nuisance, tight around the wrist and restricting movement. He was merely used to the discomfort of a well-kept appearance. Keith was only in the midst of improving. If he continued to try, he would get used to the feeling and as a result, become something quite pleasant in the older man's eyes.

“It does not matter if you are fantastic at dealing with infection. The bandages should still be changed. Why go through the added suffering of an infection? It is only making the time you have to put up with it longer. Please, it is really no trouble. I may be cruel, but I know a bite like that is painful enough without an added infection. If I could, I would force you to go get stitches,” sighed the alp, shaking his head as though it was a great loss. Infections always ruined the blood for awhile, making a person smell rancid. It was something even his weaker nose could pick up on, even if humans could not.

The brunet hummed softly, quickly finishing off the last few bites of cake, and then staring coldly down at his sandwich, as though its inferior flavor had somehow wronged him by existing in his presence. “Good. I am sure I could goad you into fighting if I was rude enough. The only problem is this place is a little more public, and neither of us really need to look more mean-spirited than we really are, no? Though, a fight in here would certainly be exciting...And certainly get me fired.” He snorted, lifting his gaze from his remaining food. “It would only seem I am allowed to torture students in privacy, not public.”

“But thank you,” he added afterwords, finally deciding that the sandwich should not be wasted and started to finish it off happily, “food should be enjoyed and appreciated. It is always quite disrespected. Will you not be getting anything to eat? It is lunch time. Surely you are hungry. The cake is superb today...and the rest is decent.”

The librarian shut his eyes, taking in the soft chatter of the dining hall and the way Keith's voice thundered over it all. Occasionally, he would peer at Keith between his sentences, checking to make sure he was going to continue talking. “At least you went to them. Music is quite fantastic for dealing with such situations. I think that is the only reason I graduated happy.”

Roderich snorted. “You are extremely curious. You have a strange relationship with pain and I cannot quite figure you out. Sometimes you seem content the way you are, a delinquent and a rebel. Yet other moments, like now, you are discontent and striving to make something out of your life. You are baffling and I am almost delighted by the fact I have to deal with you. Delighted and utterly horrified. But of course! You are very welcome. I have no qualms trying to help while I figure you out.”

PostSubject: Re: Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith)   Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Icon_minitimeThu Sep 08, 2011 11:49 pm

At his old school the Australian had never been forced to where anything but the school shirt he wasn't used to the crisp shirts and blazers in winter. It was all quite new to him and he still didn't know how to do a tie, the tie he currently was wearing was tied by a teacher then placed over his neck, the whole uniform was new to him. Keith didn't care much for pleasing others and as soon as his mood wore off he'd ditch the tie and roll his sleeves up to the top of his arms and get it dirty climbing the trees in the grounds yet again.

He sighed nodding looking up at Roderich again, it wasn't really fair in his eyes and irritated him. The thought of him changing the bandages on the wounds he had caused hit a nerve with the rebel and he opposed it. But he gave up and nodded, "Fine," he looked up, "you can change my bandages just please be gentle with it," he rolled his eyes sighing lightly, "Either what you are saying is just you being a staff member or it's sympathy which is appreciated but unwanted."

"I'd love to fight with you again you rich bastard," he laughed quickly leaning back in his chair chuckling lightly, "and I'd fight you right now but yeah public place and other people don't like me fighting while I'm injured," he ran his fingers through his hair with slight irritation. He smiled back at the librarian contently and he put the bottom of his foot on the edge of the table, "Wonderful," he said sarcastically, "if you ever feel angry call me and you can tear my neck again," he laughed again a bit more real, "must be such a pain being a teacher having to watch what you do all the time~"

"Nah I'm fine," he said waving his hand dismisivly, ever since he was a child he rarely ate when he had injuries. "I don't like eating with these things," he pointed to his neck descretly, "I feel ill and I don't like it, plus I'll probobly eat later tonight with a nice bottle of beer."

He nodded happily thinking of his guitar. Scratched and drawn on with burns along the side, names of his old friends carved into the handle and doodles of flowers around the sides that a few of his female friends had drawn. The strap was made from leather and it too was tattered. But even though the guitar was in terrible condition it sounded wonderful and on the back had inspirational sayings from the few of his friends who weren't dick heads and had similar pasts and reactions to them as Keith as opposed to the 'gangsta wannabes' or those people who pretend to be something they weren't, "I love my guitar," was his only response.

He laughed, that sounded like him to a T. He knew that he was a bit strange in that way with swaping his view points. He guessed that it spawned from the fact that he wanted to be loved by others and the only way to gain that love was to abide by their rules but on the other hand he was frightenened of the system and thus rebelled against it, "Good luck trying to figure me out," he snickered giving him the thumbs up, "if you work out what's wrong with me please call!~"

PostSubject: Re: Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith)   Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Icon_minitimeFri Sep 09, 2011 1:38 pm

Roderich snorted at Keith as he seemed to brush off the offer to help clean his neck up. He accepted it, sure, but it seemed as though he did not understand the purpose of his help. It was almost insulting for the fragile alp. “I am not changing your bandages because I feel guilty, or sympathetic, or just doing my duty as a staff member. If you noticed, I said there was a lack of respect for food, implying that I do respect my food source. It is incredibly disrespectful to let such a source like you acquire a festering wound after I feasted. It is a bloodsucker trait. It is silly to let things go to waste because we drank too much or they became sick and died as a result.”

He cast the blond a cold look upon finishing his explanation, waiting to see if the boy comprehended or not. He looked distinctly bored by Keith's lack of instant understanding of his mind, but did not voice a complaint on the matter, merely letting the well-dressed delinquent do as he pleased. However, to ease the harsh honesty, he murmured a soft compliment soon after. “Of course, you do look quite nice now, my dear food source. The girls must be appreciating the new look, no?”

The Austrian hummed, looking more content now that he settled in his seat with a full stomach. The only thing that would make it better would be a nice cup of coffee. Perhaps a nice nap too. It was hard to recall when his last hour of sleep was obtained, though the pale man would never dare to take a nap in the presence of this troublesome Australian boy. It seemed far too dangerous.

“Another fight would be interesting,” he hummed softly. “Not as fun though, no surprises to hit you with this time around. Well, perhaps. I am sure I could find something if I really wished to cause a blow, be it physical or mental.” Roderich stretched in a languid manner, tilting his head curiously and only half keeping an eye on Keith. It is not as though he would mind it he ran off. “It is not really an issue, watching what I do. I was raised to be a gentleman at all times. Though, as you can see, I am not very good at it. It is really the servants who always kept me in line. I imagine once I own a staffed home I will master the technique, but for the most part, I am quite aware of who is around and how I ought to act, even if I do not always show it.”

A small, amused, smile stole its way onto his face. “I cannot imagine that is very healthy for you. You really ought to eat, even when hurt. How else will your body function correctly? You will grow all wrong, or is that another species.” He paused, furrowing his brow. It had been a long time since he had to study how the human body worked. It was not necessary for an alp. They were not technically living and in need of nutrients. They were only supposed to appear human. “Though, I must agree, a nice bottle of beer is a fantastic way to end the day. However, as a teacher, I believe I am supposed to berate you.”

He gave a dismissive wave at the boy, instantly seeming to give up. “You make it sound like you do not understand yourself either. A shame. If I do figure it out, I will most certainly not share. I will keep it a little secret, unless my knowledge would somehow benefit you in a way that benefits me as well.”

Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith)   Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Icon_minitimeFri Sep 09, 2011 3:32 pm

Keith rolled his eyes staring at Roderich is dismay, annoyance seeping through. The way he was talking was like he planned on eating from him again, if he was a vampire he'd have no problem with it. He always wanted to be an all-you-can-eat for a vampire, but this alp thing was dangourous and he didn't like the tearing flesh. If, on the other hand, the aristocrat found a way of drinking the blood from Keith without harming him he would agree, "The way you say it makes me less likely to agree to do something stupid like that," he spat back quickly, "and the way you talk about others as food, while I find it utterly interesting, it makes me sick."

The Australian understood all right, it wasn't all that hard to understand. He had been around animals since a very young age and had gotten used to their mannerisms, many of which where mimiced in bloodsuckers. He wished he had spent more time around bats but they always had a funny habit of being nocturnal and he rarely ever went out at night. He was terrified of the creatures his uncle called 'bunyips' or 'yowies'. He snickered at the comment by the librarian, "Ha!" He laughed, "Probobly not, while I do not doubt their aare other people like me here the majoraty probobly hate me."

Keith's demina had calmed and he slowly sunk back into one of his more normal states, being able to have a conversation with the librarian in front of him. He showed no signs of fear but none of direspect as well. Though the bottoms of his feet where on a dining table and he was leaned back as far as he could he was still somewhat respecting, he was just being a bit cocky at that moment.

He laughed, it was true, fights were never as fun a second time but if by chance you had the weakness of your opponent up your sleeve the battle could be very much in your favour, "Great," his sarcasam continued lazily, "I can look forward to more pshycological torture from the great alp Roderich." The one thing he would not be looking forward to in a re-match fight would be if he lost or was reduced to the state he was last time, if he had a fight and lost he would like to make sure that he went down with dignity not crying in a ball feeling sorry for himself. He looked over him at laughed, he really wasn't that worried about Roderich following him around, he was very certain that the other would want the least amount to do with him as possible taking great stakes to avoid him.

"Humans can go a few days without eating, birds don't need to eat much and I don't know much about demons," he crossed his arms at Roderich's words. Why was he caring? Maybe he wasn't and it wasn't like Keith wasn't eating at all. He was just eating little bits, he would start eating again once the wound had at least healed half way. At the moment it was nearly there but he still felt sick thinking about it. "You don't tell anyone I drink on campus and I want tell everyone in my classes that you're a public menace, even as a creature you should be able to control your tendancies. Especially as a staff member," but then he shrugged, "not that I really care at all you know?"

"I don't," he looked at the ceiling before back down at Roderich with a soft smile, "I was six when I was turned into a monster or atleast when I started to become one. At that age I barely knew what a chimera was and after that I was too scared to find anything out about them. After I came here I did a bit of research but some parts of me don't match up and I can't tell the line between chimera and shitty up-bringing," he shrugged lightly being in a mood where this stuff didn't bother him all that much. He wanted to know what he was and what about a chimera was attractive to create but no such luck was his, "and damn you!" He laughed.

Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith)   Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Icon_minitimeSat Sep 10, 2011 7:53 pm

Roderich met Keith's irritated stare with a simple raising of his brow, daring him to voice his opinions instead of just giving him dirty looks. He idly rested his chin on his hand, leaning forward in vague interest at Keith's attitude. He tilted his head curiously. “Do not be a fool. I am not going to bite you again, unless you prompt me to do so. Especially not right now. I just ate lunch. I only am respecting for the first meal. I ate. I now return the favor by making sure you remain healthy as well...And if someone else wants to eat you, you will still be healthy for them.” He shrugged. “But humans really are food to creatures like me, just as any other meat is to a human. It is nothing new. Get used to the idea.”

The Austrian gave him a bored look at the explanation. “Really, liebe, they only dislike you because you have always been an ass, no? And really, no one wants to hang around someone who is just going into get trouble, like you are. People much prefer less volatile friendships.” He shook his head, giving Keith a look of disdain, a coldness returning in his attitude. “I was merely hoping that your nicer look would attract the attention of your classmates, they would give you a second chance. I suppose they were so forgiving...or perhaps they are smart enough to know that looks are not everything. I cannot really say for sure.”

Roderich's face twisted into a scowl at the feet up on the table, in his face. He sneered at the display, obviously annoyed by the appearance of Keith, unable to handle seeing the dirty shoes where he, moments ago, ate his food. “Get your food off the table this instant, you pig. You are unsightly and disgusting. People eat on these tables. The world is not all about you. Think of others for once.”

Roderich rolled his eyes, but his fingers twitched at the thought of another fight. There was a more feral part of him that would not mind reducing Keith to a pathetic state again, a whimpering, sobbing state. It was an incredibly satisfying feeling, one that made him feel in control. However, the man was quick to push those cravings away. He had done enough to Keith. He just needed to leave the poor creature alone now. That would be much safer. Giving into his urges too much would do terrible damage to what remained of the aristocrat's sanity. “I pleased that you recognize my superiority,” he said simply instead.

“Oh, please. Why should I care if you spend all your evenings drinking yourself into a stupor. I drank when I was a student too. None of the staff really does anything about it anyways. A lot of them will even join in. Of course, I will not say a word. Why should I bother you about it? It would probably just give you drinking companions, and really, it is best just to leave you drinking pathetically on your own,” sneered the Austrian bitterly. His contempt for the boy becoming more evident the longer he sat with him.

However, his gaze and tone softened as Keith calmed. He fell silent, listening to him carefully. “I did not realize that you had been changed at such a young age...that is...rather heartbreaking, really. You poor thing,” Roderich hummed softly, almost hesitant.

The Australian nodded, "I'm just a bit cautious forgive me," he listened carefully comparing everything to the creatures of the bush. He guessed it was true the food chain and all he just had to add in an extra level of man-eating-mythical-beasts, that weren't new to him more strange, this world was scary but at the same time uterly interesting to a point that Keith could feel himself taking after his family members. He couldn't be blamed his parents were doctors and his uncle was a scientist, from a young age he loved finding out stuff. And even now he loved hearing about this and expanding the library of useless (in his mind) information. "I guess that's true," he said in agreeance, "it just feels a little bit odd for me is all."

"I hope so too," he said with a small shrug, friends were always good but the Australian could go along well speaking to birds. It had been a long time since he had had a true friend and while he had met so many nice people at this school he counted barely of them as trur friends. But slowly he was letting his gaurds down and would let other people come in. Strangely he felt a connection, not friendship or even hatred, to Roderich. It was sort of like a kind of like a strange admiration he had for him which made him chuckle out loud, "which reminds me do you have many friends?"

The Australian rolled his eyes and pulled his feet from the table, "Fine grumpy face," he snickered slightly then looked around the room. The food didn't look that good but the tables were clean as opposed to the public schools at home. He sighed putting both of his feet flat onto the floor and pulled his sleeve over his hand wiping the dirt off the table causing the crips white sleeve to brown.

"I guess this school is pretty cool in that way," Keith grinned the idea of drinking coming deeper into his mind, he had to make a mental note to get some beer that night and go drink for a bit. Not get completely drunk just enough for everything in the room to look a teensy bit funny. Yeah that should be enough. He blinked looking over at the librarian, "Is there something wrong with drinking on your own?" He asked genuinly suprised, he had drunk by himself since coming here since crows generally don't handle alchohol all that well.

Keith looked back at his gaze and tilted his head, "I guess I didn't tell you hmm," he shrugged not really caring all that much although the memories were fresh, "I was too young to completely understand so it's mostly okay, anyway it's my fault," he laughed nervously but other than that showed none of the signs of depression or angst that had been visible in the library a week ago, "I always asked to help him and eventually he said I could, too bad it was as an experement. I learnt a lot about biology though."

He didn't particually want sympathy from Roderich especilly when he didn't give himself any to start with. He looked over wondering if there was a soft drink vending machine to at least get a drink. "Be back soon," he said and stood up going over to the counter getting a cola before coming back and sitting at the table opening it up taking a big sip out of it. Ah yes that was nice, truly it was. However it did make him slightly hungry, he bit the side of his cheek thinking. Now what would be good to eat? Maybe he should eat? A sandwich maybe or a meat pie, yeah been a while since he had had one.

Roderich rolled, his eyes, but seemed satisfied with Keith's acceptance of the situation. It his own cravings for blood had confused him enough as child, when he had no clue as to what happened to him. To relearn the food chain, to see that humans were in fact hunted, was always a strange idea. The mere idea that is was okay to eat the species he previously was a member of had baffled and repulsed him for years. It was only recently that the man came to terms with it, eating as he pleased. “You are not under too much threat, as a chimera. You do not really need to worry about it. Bird blood is not nearly as good as human blood...and demon blood...it always tastes strange.”

The Austrian blinked in surprise at the direct question. Friends. He supposed he did. There was that infernal Canadian boy whose name he always forgot and who that always seemed to pop up at his side and bother him. There was also his fellow aristocratic acquaintance, one whose company was always appreciated. Finally, his grumpy ex-roommate, his favorite of the lot. It was a rather small list, when he really thought on it, but it was decent enough. “Yes,” Roderich answered eventually. “Some very dear friends who I find myself valuing quite a bit. Do you have any decent friends?”

He harrumphed, but gave Keith a relieved look once his feet were removed from the table. The aristocrat could not be sure how truly good the food in the school was, if it was sanitary or decent. He would not, however, risk making it any worse that it already was. “Thank you,” he murmured simply, appreciating the respect, despite the fact it ended in Keith ruining his shirt sleeve.

“Cool, neglecting, it is hard to say. Most of us do not have fantastic ethics and the teachers have enough on their hands with cannibalistic students and demons. Underage drinking and drugs are the least of their worries. Well, drugs are a bit more concerning, but drinking is generally ignored.” The pale graduate shrugged. “But really, drinking on your own is rather pathetic. It basically shows you feel the need to get drunk to escape life. That is rather low. Most students drink as a social activity. Unless it is with a meal, I quite like drinking in the company of others, my companions.”

He shook his head sadly. “You poor creature.” Despite the man's sympathies, he was quick to drop the subject. To pity Keith ruined the easy dislike that settled between them. His past was depressing, a pity story, and it did tug at Roderich's emotions. An unacceptable action. It was much easier to scowl and pretend Keith was just like an other obnoxious student that he was forced to deal with.

A vague hope welled up in him, as though there was a chance that Keith would take this opportunity to leave the lunchroom, abandoning this conversation. However, his hopes were dashed when the child quickly returned. Roderich snorted. “That is all you are going to eat? Even if the food is not fantastic, it still passes for food. Other schools serve far worse things. Or, at least, that is what the other students say. I never had the experience.”

Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith)   Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Icon_minitimeMon Sep 12, 2011 10:54 pm

"Wonderful," he replies sarcastically sipping more of the soft drink, it was cold and soothing to a throat that had just had hard alchohol for three days. He wasn't getting drunk just drinking because he didn't want anything else and it worked to numb any pain that would sneak past the painkillers he kept in his pocket whenever an injury was found on him. Maybe drinking while on pain killers wasn't a good idea but he didn't care, Keith wasn't the centre of the good idea circle anyway. He then begun to think, if chimera blood tasted bad what did alp or vampire blood taste like? He looked up from the table and into the librarians eyes, "What does alp blood taste like?" He asked ever so curiously.

He thought for a second. There was that kid who became his roomate and that strange girl he met in the underground passages but he didn't really count either as friends. Well the girl wasn't, yet. Then he thought about Australia. No friends there either. Then he thought about his room and nodded, "Shane and Nina are the best friends I could ever ask for," Shane being his koala and Nina his kitten. But because of his realtionship with animals growing up he thought of them not just as pets or companions but as family and true best friends that he would take a bullet for, seriously.

"I sometimes drink socialy," he muttered, he would love to but he was a little bit too lazy to go out and was still worried about people. Getting even more worried about the people here all thanks to Roderich. "And what's wrong with escaping life?" He asked, although if he had it his way another method would be more useful. If he wasn't careful, when he drunk, Keith sometimes found himself in a state of depression or pain much worse than that of which he was escaping. This is where walking around the school talking to random kids or chatting with the neighbouring bird life came in, although it wasn't a sure fire win. He tried to stay positive as best he could and he wanted to show Roderich he wasn't just another twenty-first century emo.

Keith recognised Roderich dropping the conversation and he too let it go with ease, although deep down the feeling of thankfulness for Roderich's sympathy came through. It had been only about the second time he had seen such words come from the aristocrats mouth and it was comforting in a way. He gave a small smile contently before downing for of the soft drink giving Roderich a thankful expression.

The Australian laughed when he returned to the table seeing the look on the others face, he took a smug pride in feeling that he had annoyed the stuck up man, "Maybe," he looked back over at the canteen. A sandwich wouldn't be bad and he was starting to get awful hungry. Dammit, he wanted a meat pie so badly at that moment. He stood from the table again as if he was hyperactive and walked over to the canteen settling for a sasuage roll, he wasn't going to eat anything too fancy. After drowning the poor thing in tomato sauce he made his way back to the table licking his fingers.

"Okay I take back what I said," he muttered before taking a big bite out of the roll, not eating much for a week had left him starving and he started to woof down the roll quickly but then he stopped himself and wiped his mouth slowly. "O-oh...sorry," he grabbed the paper napkin covering his mouth as he chewed forgetting that he should probobly have been slightly more polite around aristocracy. He took another small bite chewing with his mouth closed silently dropping his gaze.

PostSubject: Re: Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith)   Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Icon_minitimeMon Sep 19, 2011 10:31 am

Roderich hummed softly to himself, relaxed and lazing in his chair now. He no longer bothered keeping an eye on the Australian delinquent, instead letting his eyes roam about the room, settling momentarily on students he was more fond of and skipping over those who bothered him. His eyes never returned to Keith, always finding something more interesting. He let out a soft sigh.

“Alp blood?” Roderich asked softly, seeming to muse over the subject. “Well, I have never tasted an Alp...I have never even met another Alp, so I cannot say for sure. However, vampires are supposedly similar and they taste rotten. Bitter and disgusting...Except...you get a high from drinking vampire blood, so it can be seen as delicious in that light. Alp blood gives no high.” The pale aristocrat shrugged.

He raised a brow. “Shane and Nina? I have never heard those names before.” Roderich gave a disdainful snort. “Are they your made up friends so that you do not look pathetic? Worry not, you are as pathetic as they come in my eyes. You cannot sink lower,” murmured the ruthless gentleman across from Keith.

Roderich raised a brow, but for the most part did not try to undermine Keith further. “It is depressing to drink alone. It shows you are quick to hit rock bottom. You are just drinking to become drunk because you are unable to deal with life as it is. I am sure you could find kind souls here to drink with. There is no need for you to trot around all on your lonesome, drunk. No one ever wants to hand out with a drunk delinquent.” He sighed, finally letting his eyes travel back to the Australian to cast him a pitying look. He could not stand loneliness, and he could not see how Keith ever put up with it.

The uptight librarian nearly laughed at the sight of the boy wolfing down the food after all his denial of needing food or even wanting the food. He was so obviously starved, it was pitiful. It was easy to ignore the mess Keith made as he gobbled down the food. It had been a long time since Roderich associated with anyone who ate like that, and it was refreshing, not that the man would admit it. It was messy and disgusting and refreshing. Not everyone was dignified.

“Here, liebe,” Roderich started, standing lazily, “You are obviously hungry, and while this food is decent, it is not as good as a home cooked meal. We can commandeer the kitchen and I will make you something nice. Whatever you like. No need for you to eat this dribble when starved. I will even make a desert. Germknödel sounds good right now.”

Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith)   Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Icon_minitimeTue Sep 20, 2011 4:13 am

The Australian tilted his head curiously, "You've never met another alp? Did you live alone with the witch?" He wasn't trying to be nosey or rude he was in all honesty curious. He swirled around the cola bottle, the part about vampire blood made him giggle and sounded extremly interesting, "In that case what has been the best and worst blood you've tasted?" He quickly backtracked hiss entance fumbling with his tongue, "that is if you don't mind answering..."

"Shane is my koala and Nina is a kitten," he smiled like a child, "they are really cute and like family to me. Shane has been with me for about....almost...four or five years now. We understand eachother and we can sort of communicate, he's really sweet but has a tendancy to spook people," he scratched the side of his head remembering the looks on some peoples faces when he ate hot chips with a koala on the beach. Even living as a human being he was a strange one.

Keith rolled his eyes putting the bottle down, "I'll find someone to drink with eventually," he groaned really not liking the way Roderich talked even though he had him pinned down. Yes most of the time he drank to forget but he did drink for amusement as well and would always offer a can of beer to someone if they were in the room. "And what's wrong with being alone? I'm never truly alone anyway, theres the birds and Shane around for me as well. Although I'm guessing you have a deep want to be wanted and around people due to your relationship with your family," he stiffled a giggle smiling taking the bottle up once again having a sip smirking, "Am I right?"

Keith looked up at Roderich scrunching the wrapper up and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand gently, he wondered what the other was thinking as he ate and found himself actually caring about what the aristocrat thought about him. Well that was a first. He sat up looking down at the crumbs groaning again wiping them into the wrapper gently. God he must think I'm disgusting. He cursed to himself.

A suprised gasp of a look overtook the Australian's face and he shook his head gently, "I don't want to condradict myself so quickly and I don't want pity help from you." He crossed his arms watching the empty bottle of cola roll lazily around by itself before coming to a halt and he looked back up at the librarian in front of him, "Don't think you have to be nice to me, I don't care if your a jerk or a saint your Roderich and my view of you won't change," what his view on him though even to him was unknown.

But hell a cooked meal wouldn't be too bad it may even be good but still. The point still standed that he'd be accepting help from someone, a teacher no less and someone who had hurt him. He was not family nor friend nor any sort of person that would be the type that Keith would allow help from, the brunette wrinkled his nose slightly but relaxed it again almost instantly.

PostSubject: Re: Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith)   Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Icon_minitimeTue Sep 20, 2011 7:01 pm

Roderich lazily traced a pattern in the table, debating how to answer. It was eventually decided, for once, that blunt honesty was his best choice. It resulted in the man sighing again. “I never lived with the witch...I did not know-...I did not know I was an Alp until I was sent here. I sort of operated as a werewolf does...unknowingly a monster at night, a puppet in the hands of a witch.” The pale creature scowled. “Even if I lived with her, I would never run into another Alp. We are not easy to create and there is really no need for a witch to own more than one.”

He shrugged awkwardly before brightening slightly. He waved off Keith's attempts at politeness with a half visible smile and spoke with an amused lilt. “It is really not rude to wonder...Though, I do not advise going down that line of questioning with a bloodsucker who is not at ease with his nature...But it is something I always like to ask others too. The best blood is definitely the blood of a witch. Delicious. They are female, humanoid, and full of magic. The worst is probably a tie between male water spirits and male werewolves. They taste watered down or like dead, rotten meat. Disgusting.”

“Ah...” started the pale young gentleman, arching a brunet brow in vague curiosity, “Those friends do not sound as though they make great conversation. As sweet as they may be, are they really replacing friends? They will never be able to properly comfort you.” He tried to shrug in a dismissive manner, but it seemed more displeased and dejected than anything else.

Roderich huffed. “[i]Nobody[i] likes to be alone. Everyone seeks the company of others, whether they realize it or not. Humanoids tend to be social species, even if some of us have anti-social tendencies. But really, person wants to be left alone, with no one to chat with. You are here chatting with me. We do not like one another...Yet it would seem the alternative, avoiding one another, was not exactly an appealing idea. Though, if I am incorrect, please be quick to inform me. I merely ask that you do not try to say you were forced to be here. You could avoid it, delinquent.” He hummed his last few lines, almost as though he was daring him to deny his assumptions.

He stretched, waiting for Keith to give in and join him in commandeering the kitchen. The Austrian ended up rolling his eyes when the student continued to reject his offers of food. “Well, it is quite good that I do not really have any intention of cooking for your sake. I am still hungry and my stomach can no longer handle anything less than the kind of food I can make,” lied the Austrian with ease. He was cooking for Keith, but it was all too easy to pretend he was well-rounded in his selfishness in hopes to goad the child into eating.

PostSubject: Re: Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith)   Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Icon_minitimeSun Sep 25, 2011 11:57 pm

"Oh," Keith blinked slightly not expecting that answer and slightly caught off gaurd by Roderich's honesty, for someone who hated him he was sure being honest. He mused over what he could say for a few moments before nodding showing that he understood before changing the subject back to something a little more socially acceptable, "Why are you being...more kind...I may be just imagining it but you sorta seem open...it's odd considoring how we are with eachother with hatred and all that?"

He smiled plesantly listening to Roderich's description of the types of blood, pictures going through his mind and thinking where his own blood was ranked against the scale. As he thought his hands wandered to his collar straightening his tie and folding the pinned up collar down against his shoulders, "So the sterotypes against creatures preying on women are pretty much correct?" He asked as his hands shifted down to the table surface again where they sat silently.

"They both sorta saved my life in a way...or atleast they help for hard times," he gave him a small smile then shrugged only somewhat irriated by the mans words. He then opened an eye and peered at him, "If you want me to get proppor friends why not volunter youself?" He opened both his eyes leaning back, "You fill almost the definition of friend in some way."

The Australian leant back with a small nod, "Yeah I was forced to come here and I could have run saying that I was afraid and still hurt," he looked at Roderich adopting a serious tone as he spoke gently, "in truth I sort of wanted to see you again, I said I was strange didn't I?" He hoped that his drabble of words made some sort of sense the aristocrat because it barely made sense to him, "And yeah...I crave attention even from those who are mean to me, if I like someone I will stay by them regardless. I yern the attention, love and acceptance of others even from you, theres something about you I obviously like so I guess I crave your approval...why did you come?" He finally asked, "You seem less happy about this, so why did you come?"

"Fine," he nodded standing up looking around. No one was looking thank god, "I guess I might as well come and eat with you, but I don't want any fancy foreign food. Don't think of me as un-cultured but some food just doesn't agree with me." He walked around the table and stood next to Roderich smiling up at him, "Food better be good," he grinned from ear to ear like a child, "and it better not be like a date where you make me food to try and woo me~"

Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith)   Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Icon_minitimeMon Sep 26, 2011 7:22 pm

Roderich shrugged his shoulders, a tad down and resigned about his past. He was quiet and unimposing, his characteristic aura of dripping arrogance nowhere to be seen. He looked quite ordinary, a trait not often associated with the irritable aristocrat. He spent a good deal of his time making sure that he was not ordinary in any way at all. Yet, as he reflected, it all seemed to evaporate. “To clear up misconceptions. I find it far more infuriating to be accused of something that was not my fault, or I did not do, than to be snarled at for what I did. You ought to have a correct foul opinion of me, not a false one. Besides, it makes you sound foolish to prattle on when you do not understand.”

“Well..” the aristocrat continued softly, “the stereotype is not completely correct. I only speak for my species. The preying on women is an Alp thing, not something that applies to all of the hunters. My kind has been known to, according to myths and textbooks and urges, drink blood from the breasts of women. I, however, have never tried it.” The pale graduate looked incredibly awkward about this fact. It was not anything to brag about, or really ever divulge. However, he did not want Keith reading the myths and then thinking that he would ever partake in such behavior. It was a disgusting thought, and one that would surely mar his name.

Roderich raised his brow curiously, not at all sure how animals could ever help a person when in woe. He did not question it though, merely excepting the strange, nature loving delinquent's word. Whatever kept the boy safe and out of trouble. “I do not wish to volunteer myself. It would tarnish my name terribly to associate with someone such as yourself. That, and you are quite insufferable. I could never put up with you for a long amount of time,” he grumbled, making up excuses to ignore the refreshing company of a hooligan.

He huffed at the boy, set on disliking him. Part of him was merely too well-raised to ever consider Keith anything to be fond of. He was the dregs of society; unwanted, unneeded, and a burden. Keith was a creature to be avoided at all costs, not someone for Roderich to escape high-class life with. “I only came because they pay me to be here. I could not accept a paycheck with a good conscious knowing that I had blown off my work. It would be disrespectful of me,” lied the man with relative ease.

Without giving Keith a single glance, Roderich started towards the kitchens. “I will cook whatever pleases me. I do not care what you have to say about it, brat.” He snorted. “And as if anyone would ever try to woo you. If you even dare look at me the wrong way, I may have to give you another scar or two.”

PostSubject: Re: Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith)   Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Icon_minitimeMon Sep 26, 2011 11:16 pm

Keith was getting irritated and he scratched his head out of infuriation looking across the table at the aristocrat, that really didn't answer his question. Maybe it was his own fault for continuing the conversation but it was truly a mystery. He was well aware that the other thought he was a waste of space and a sorry excuse for any sentient being but did that mean hatred, he sighed rolling his eyes trying to keep a track of his mental tangents, "Fine I'm sorry," he grunted loooking up at him, "I'm sorry I acused you of being nice, I'll be sure to spread the rumor that you're a heartless bastard from now on."

The Australian laughed at the description whole heartedly, being amused by such simplistic things, "Well then you really are a lady killer," he snickered quietly to himself beaming with a contented smile, "So who do you usually eat around campus or do you go to butchers and get big barrells of the stuff?" He was halfy being serious and half joking, he really was curious about where the alp got his meals and how legal it was although he presumed that in a school like this lee-way would be given for students and staff who had those slight canabalistic tendancies.

"Aww, ya sure?" He said in a joking voice, he didn't really care all that much he was sure he'd find friends eventually. "And your words hurt me," he whined foolishly before shrugging it off, "I don't care anyway you would probobly end up cramping my style anyway, plus I don't do friendships with teachers, adults or people in positions of power so you're safe my dear rich bastard," the smile on his face curled at the ends and small shots of quiet laughter made their way through barely parted lips.

"Make enough sense I guess," he muttered rolling his eyes. He rolled the bottle too and from his body before watching it roll off the edge of the table lazily and he gave a small happy hum and it bounced on the floor quickly. "So I presume after this you will be avoiding me at all costs and I'll never see your face again after today?" A small twinge of saddness came over his voice as he spoke almost as if he wanted to see him again.

He laughed picking the bottle up tossing the bottle in the bin, "Bitch," he joked heaving a sigh guessing he'd have to eat whatever the guy made and hopefully it would agree with him, "and hey I've had pleanty of girlfriendy-like things in the past!" He glared at Roderich in a stupid manner that he did not realize, "And I can look at you however I want and if you lay another finger on me I'll bite them off!"

PostSubject: Re: Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith)   Oh, great, you again. (Roderich + Keith) Icon_minitimeTue Sep 27, 2011 12:09 pm

Roderich raised a brow, slightly confused, not exactly having meant to annoy the Australian as much as he did. He tilted his head curiously, not quite sure how to respond, before shaking his head and sighing at Keith. “You are so quick to snap to anger. You asked a question and I merely answered. I did not mean to make it sound like I do not wish to be thought of as kind. I only wished to explain part of the reason why I was being kind. Of course, if you would like to spread rumors of my cruelty, have at it. I will just have to be extra nice to everyone other than you.”

The pale man's nose wrinkled as Keith laugh. It never ceased to be awkward, that little piece of trivia, and having someone laugh in response was not exactly appreciated. Roderich did manage to quell his feelings of annoyance and embarrassment. “Big barrels of blood? That sounds absolutely repulsive. It would be cold and old.” He nose wrinkled in complete disgust, and he paled a bit, as though the mere idea made him sick to the stomach. “When I really need blood, I merely hunt in the gardens at night. There is always a foolish idiot out of bed and skulking through the gardens with some terribly stupid notion that monsters do not hang around daisies and roses and lilies.” His activities were not exactly condoned by the school, and he ought to have been eating from willing victims or bags of blood, but he could never be bothered to do as such.

“I am positive,” answered the Alp dryly, not at all caring if it would hurt Keith's feelings or simply insult him. He snorted and shook his head. “And I will in no way be taking the time to avoid you. That would require far too much insight into your life and too much thought about you. Now that I see you are not seeking revenge for your little bite, then I shall mind my own business.” He paused. “I am always in the library if you ever really need me for some strange reason.”

“Jerk,” spat Roderich in return with ease. They entered the kitchen soon after, and the man immediately lit up, feeling quite at home among the uncooked foods. For a few seconds Keith was forgotten, as he stepped over to a counter and started taking stock of what was readily available. There was a good deal of food still out. It was also an amazing variety of food. Any creature could have been satisfied in the school's kitchens. They were indeed equipped to deal with all sorts of bizarre and horrible animals.

Roderich hummed happily. “Only girlfriend-like? Those do not really count,” he quipped back distractedly, as he started gathering up the ingredients he wanted to cook with. He was almost like a child, eagerly grabbing whatever caught his eye first, before abandoning it when he saw something better. He did, however, stay away from the more exotic of ingredients, merely to appease Keith.

Keith shrunk down in his seat feeling almost embarrased about what he had said to Roderich, his face went red and he sighed slightly making a guilty sound with his throat before looking up to make eye contact with the aristocrat across the table. He gave Roderich a look that was somehow showing apology and slight guilt. He hadn't meant to seem rude or stupid it was just how it came out. The Australian felt very foolish next to Roderich, he felt like he had to be better or smarter than how he currently acted. Keith chuckled wondering what, if Roderich had an opinion, he would think if he were to tell him but it would sound foolish and self-centered so he kept it to himself in silence.

"Aww you make me hurt," he replied sarcasticaly with a small chuckle to follow suit. So Roderich would be in the library? Keith had no doubts that he would definitly visit him be it for serious reasons or to imply annoy the librarian. But he covered his thoughts with a small scoff and a lazy response, "Nah I probobly won't go, nothing for me there," he smiled, "sorry mate you just ain't worth my effort. I guess we are simialr in that way. Hey that must hurt; we're similar!"

Keith followed him into the kitchen looking around to see if there was anything he could snack on. The thought of beer then came to mind and he made a bee-line to the fridge to look inside for a drink, he sighed when he saw none. He leant back grabbing a slice of the sqaure 'plastic' cheese, he peeled the thin plastic off and place the cheese into his mouth eating it slowly chewing gently. He trotted over to the bench and leapt up onto it sitting down continuing to eat his cheese contently, "Just so you know you ain't no perfect primrose yourself!"

"I know they don't," he groaned slightly rolling his eyes irritably licking his fingers free of the rest of the cheese, "You wanna hook me up with someone?" He asked with a grin on his face shaking his head in dismay. He laughed watching the librarian grab ingredients and put them down sniggering as he ran around the kitchen. He blinked slightly noticing him avoiding ingredients he wasn't familer with, "Thanks mate."

He swung his legs contently banging his heels against the front of the cupboard below him trying to be as quiet as he could be about it. A smile plastered his face watching Roderich cook and he giggled, "I feel like a little kid around you," he laughed, "you're kind of...kind to me like a parent...is it odd for me to think that?"

Roderich let out a low hum, gauging the sudden change in demeanor at his harsh words. In a way, Roderich felt like his interactions with Keith were equivalent to those with a small, rebellious, child. It was as though he was a parent, constantly at battle with a child, someone he could not just abandon. To the arrogant man, Keith seemed like some poor case, deserving of both pity and harsh words. It almost seemed as though the delinquent felt the same, if the way he now seemed to cringe when made to look like a fool. It was an extremely curious transition from their first meeting to the second, and the Austrian man did not quite know what to make of it.

“At least we are similar in a reasonable way,” quipped the Austrian with ease. “I know I cannot be bothered to waste time on you, and you know not to bother me. It sounds like a fantastic similarity. If that is the case, I am quite content. I suppose we shall see each other when we see each other, yes?” Roderich glanced away, seemingly oblivious to the younger male's fondness for him. He already found peace with the fact Keith would not be a recurring character in his life.

It took the Austrian a few tries at gathering ingredients to select a suitable dish. Eventually, he managed to settle on a French-Canadian dish, tourtiere. Upon selecting the pie, he quickly set to work, placing all the rejected ingredients back where they belonged and starting to work on the dough from scratch. He smiled as he worked, barely paying Keith any mind as he spoke. “Yeah, yeah, whatever. I did not need you throwing up on me if the ingredients were strange,” huffed the Austrian dismissively. “And there is no way I would ever hook you up to someone. I would never punish someone in that way. Anyone I know deserves better.” A pause. “Or would murder you.”

Roderich, however, froze at the sudden description of the parent-child relationship they held. He already noted it, but was unaware that Keith was so comfortable with the fact. He snorted, trying to dismiss it. “I am sure you think of me as a parent. It is the only way your childish behavior can be explained. I keep you in line and you act like an idiot. Of course you would jump to that conclusion.”

Keith was indeed and odd one and something that really couldn't be explained all that well in a couple of minutes. And he was sure that Roderich was the same; layers of feelings contradicting others. His hatred toward Keith and his own hatred to Roderich seemed to fade away or at least on his side and be replaced with some sort of strange trust. It was odd to Keith himself more so.

"I guess that's good then," he replied all the time thinking that it was in fact a clever lie. He would go seek out the librarian in a couple of days and said he needed a book for one of his classes or say he got there by accident, shoot off a couple of swears and he'd probobly believe anything. He took a sort of smug pride in this plan at the back of his head but sniggered at himself inwardly noticing what a dweb he had become and how much he appeared to be turning into a teachers pet. But this was different.

A laugh came from the Ausrtalian, "Nah I have a pretty strong stomach, I really only throw up if I get really really drunk," he watched as Roderich put all the ingredients away and he peered over at what he had left trying to think of what on earth he could be making. Whatever it was he recognised nearly all of the ingredients so he was happy. He leaned back this time chuckling, "Aww you're no fun," he didn't really care anyway. Love wasn't something he was too pre-occupied with at the moment anyway. Although it would be great to be going out with someone he had prepared himself to be alone.

"But it's not just that!" Keith argued crossing his arms trying to think of examples, pleanty of which were too intracit and made barely any sense to himself let alone Roderich, "You're kind to me even though I've been an ass and even though that can be explained that you are a staff member I believe that there is still something...I don't think that you're being kind to me just because you have to...if you had to be kind you would have tried to get rid of me as quickly as possible," he paused, "unless of course I'm wrong about all of this."

He didn't really care all that much the idea of having a parent like figure didn't appeal to him all that much but the idea was still there in his head and he couldn't push it aside. It wasn't something he could do all that easily it was just there. Sitting at the back of his head nibbling away, he closed his eyes leaning against the back wall finally shrugging. Whatever.

Roderich was quick to fall into a rhythm with his cooking process. He chopped and ground the ingredients diligently and methodically, easily mimicking the ways of the chefs from his childhood. His entire body relaxed, tenseness seeping away as the man engaged in one of his many hobbies. He was not even overly hungry himself, but any excuse to cook was fantastic. Surely the bratty Australian boy would enjoy it.

“I shall keep a note to keep you away from alcohol in my presence then. I think I would find myself despising you with ever fiber of my being if you decided to throw up in my presence. How disgusting.” He shook his head to distract from the small shudder that wracked his body at the idea. “Nonetheless, you do approve of these ingredients then? I am making a Tourtière with pork. I think myself rather decent when it comes to pies. My specialty does typically lie in the area of pastries, be they sweet or savory.”

Roderich relished in each gap in conversation, enjoying the peace of the kitchen and the relaxation practically emanating from him. Keith's ramblings were suddenly taken with ease, not at all hard to listen to or a nuisance. “I have my morals,” he hummed softly, suddenly ditching the filling to finish the pie crust. “Sometimes people are pleasant, tolerable...And even if I am not the most friendly or sociable of men, I do not think it is really fair of me to completely take that out on others, ja? Anyways, no one lives up to my standards. I might as well be kind to the general populace some of the time.”
